19 walkers headed out from Little Shoal Bay on a walk along the trails around Birkenhead. 

We started off through the newly upgraded Le Roys Bush walkway, which follows a stream and has an impressive system of boardwalk and stairways. I spotted some lovely kiekie flowers alongside the path. 

The track took us through to Kauri Point and the area used for the introductory course, which had many WOPpers reminiscing about their training experiences. 

The walk included a trek down and back up a muddy slope beside the Kauri Point Naval Reserve and a spot where we climbed up the track using tree roots. I enjoyed the chance to get my boots muddy and feel a bit adventurous.
