Despite the marginal weather forecast 13 walkers enjoyed the 16 km walk over the ARC farm out at South Head in quite good weather. Quite a change to be on a working farm with magnificent views over the Kaipara. The highlight was seeing the spoonbills out near the old prawn farm. After lunch our intention was to do a beach walk but Jill had had a senior moment re the tide and as no-one had their swimwear, a new route home was created. All agreed it was a very enjoyable walk and worth the 16 km round trip.
