What a difference four days can make!  Doing the recce on Sunday had us slip-sliding around but by Thursday the track had dried out significantly. The seven of us did encounter some mud but not to the degree Jill was anticipating.  Phew.  From the Falls Track we detoured to the Puriri Track and then back up via Kauri Dam to the Langsview Track.  

We lunched at the newly constructed (and funded by the locals) shelter which gave us magnificent coastal views and the bonus, a loo.   

We came back via Tanekaha Forest Track.  Great group with which to share the experience of the magnificent forest from the enormous puriri and rimu to the parataniwha edging the streams and waterfalls. Great walk.
